The Robert C. Byrd Clinic is located on the campus of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) in historic Lewisburg, WV. We are a comprehensive not-for-profit organization committed to providing primary health care to the residents
of the Greenbrier Valley.
The clinic opened in 1976 as the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine Clinic, Inc. and was housed in the south wing of WVSOM. It served as a faculty practice and teaching site for WVSOM students and professors. In addition to its teaching
mission, The WVSOM Clinic, Inc. quickly identified the need for primary health care services in Greenbrier County and began to grow.
Thanks to a federal appropriation that was secured by the late Senator Robert C. Byrd in January 1997, the WVSOM Clinic, Inc relocated to its present location at the north end of the WVSOM and officially became known as the Robert C. Byrd Clinic.
Since our initial expansion in 1997 RCBC has continued growing by leaps and bounds. The clinic not only provides a site for WVSOM faculty practice, but also allows us to conduct research and offer clinical training opportunities for future
RCBC offers a wide range of primary care services and extended office hours to meet your needs. Our services include medical acupuncture, diabetic education, acute care, family medicine, psychology, internal medicine, osteopathic manipulative
medicine, pediatric medicine, proctology, mental health, x-ray, and laboratory services by Labcorp. In February 2012 we were designated as a Patient Centered Medical Home from the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA).
Now with over 30 physicians, nurse practitioners, residents, and interns on staff, RCBC continues to deliver quality health care services to the residents of the Greenbrier Valley and look forward to providing “
